Sunday started at 6pm Saturday, when the liquor stores closed, leaving us without a source of rum. And of course it continued today, when most stores were closed, restaurants only open slowly for brunch (if at all) and there were numerous cars of well dressed people heading to their churches. That's right, we are in the south, where religion is treated seriously.

We went to a southern restaurant for our brunch (the first place we tried had a queue of 25 min just to get a table). Antony tried the local shrimp and grits- all the flavours of the low country- local shrimp sauteed with smoke sausage and peppers, served over creamy grits (a corn-based porridge) with a ham gravy. Tasty, but an artery clogger, and too rich for most stomachs. Toby enjoyed the grits though.

This afternoon we had a play under the new bridge and went for another swim. But highlight of the afternoon (apart from the home cooked tacos) was the iced tea, both the homemade with lemon variety, and the vodka infused bar drink.
