Washington DC is just like Canberra but much much bigger, everything is on a grand scale in this town. We did all the postcard sights today, kicking it off at the White House, we couldn't tour the House, as you need to ask your local representative for that, the next best thing is the visitor center.
As we were making our way down to the Washington Monument the President's chopper flew overhead, so like good tourists, we raced back to watch the chopper land on the front lawn to collect the big man himself, the President of the USofA, well we couldn't see him, but the snipers on the roof were a bit of a giveaway!
We finally made it back to the Washington Monument, the War Memorial and the Lincoln Monument, with a quick detour to Georgetown for lunch.
The day was capped off to one of the Smithonians, the Air and Space Exhibition, an amazing collection of planes and rockets, we even got to see the Wright brother's planes, not sure how many miles we walked today, but our feet were letting us know we'd done a few!
