Today was a transit day, leaving the Canadian Rockies for Toronto, a distance of some 3,500km. A long day became even longer with our flight cancelled from Calgary, eventually getting re-routed through Winnipeg, Manitoba.
So we can say we've been to Winnipeg. Winnipeg is in the central time zone, very flat, and there is at least one hare (jackrabbit) who lives on the airport Tarmac. Can't say much more than that.
A huge thank you to Jim and Barbara who lent us their car, organized baby gear and prepared all of Toby's food for the duration of our stay in the Rockies.
Today's famous Canadian is Alexander Keith who founded a brewery in Halifax in 1820, which still makes a great red ale. Guess he's probably dead by now, but he still counts as a famous Canadian.
