Nosehill Park is a 11 km2 reserve of open space in north west canada, frequented by a dozen deer, many coyotes, and most prominently: dog walkers. We joined the parade on a sunny Saturday morning. In fact too sunny for Toby in his backpack, and he grizzled the whole way.
In the afternoon, we explored downtown Calgary. Plenty of outdoor stores, indoor malls, but most impressive was the largest western outfitters this side of mars. They had boots made of ostrich, python, lizard, alligator, and cow. Not rabbit though. We passed on the free Latin concert at Princes Park, instead opting for a cold beer and afternoon tea for Toby. The first pub wouldn't let us in cos Toby was underage, the second wouldn't let us sit down until they had rearranged our table. Liquor licensing is crazy the world over.
Suzie joined us for dinner - this time another Albertan specialty - beef. Fantastic barbecued steak with all the trimmings. Then for after dinner entertainment, Toby and Tonic played ball, amusing all.
