Shalom!

After a fun evening at an Italian restaurant in Tel Aviv and... a good night's sleep. We climbed in the van to begin our journey north.  First Stop... Caesarea.  Wow!   Herod created quite a city along the Mediteranian in 324 BC!  It was so interesting to view the ruins of the Theater, the palace, bathouse, harbour and aqueducts. The Hippodrome where they had chariot races was acutally resurrected from the bottom of the sea!  Our guide gives us so much information it is hard to process everthing but totally fascinating.  Onward to Baha'i Gardens for a look (not able to go in unless you are a member of that faith) It is located in the city of Haifa.  Fantastic view from the top of mountain Carmel!  Missed Elijaha's cave as it closed on Friday!  Lunch at an Arab/Israeli outdoor cafe.  The two groups blend well in Haifa.  No conflict.  Interesting

Continuing on to Akko (pronounced Acre) where there is a fortress, knights hall, synagogues and mosques.  An entire crusader city was found preserved underneath the current city. Amazing to think of what you are standing on. We could not see the underground city as it is not open to the public  :(  Still!

Finally to our Hotel at the end of the day.  Scot's Hotel is a beautiful hotel which was once a hospital in this area.  Stunning views of the Sea of Galilee. (which is actually a lake)  It could be called Scott South's hotel as it is everything he enjoys in a hotel: views, accommodations, grounds plus the Sea of Galilee!  Jesus began his ministry just north of where we are staying.  It is amazing to think that he sailed these seas and walked these shores that we are now seeing.  What a tremendous blessing to say we have been here.

3 nights in this area so keep posted...
