From a more practical side, I can say after calculations that I spend all-together 146 EUR during the 16 days, which is about 9 EUR per day. Kaare spend more than me, but still it was a very low budget trip.
What we learned from this trip?
Kaare:
I got a more positive view of people in general I would say. We were met with more hospitality then I had ever hoped for on this trip.
Maybe we where in too much of a hurry to get around. It would have been very nice to stay longer in some places, I believe. Also, I learned a little Spanish, French and Italian, but not much. It was very funny to try to get rides with words I hardly knew what they meant. I don't regret that we didn't go to Venice, we were very tired of traveling, when we decided not to go. I just have to go to Rome and Venice with Anni another time.
I was in charge of making the maps and there are some things we should have done to make that easier for me. Either we should have taken a picture of every place we went (with names of the places) so we could find them again or we should have had some kind of GPS device to map all the places.
Anni:
As always, I have small regrets like why didn't we got here and why didn't we stay longer etc., but in the end it all played out as it should have. I have no regrets! It was one of those experiences, I can look back on when I'm older and think "I must have been out of my mind to do that!". But you know what - I still hope I will manage to have many more of such experiences before its too late!
