Traveling in a group can be a great way to obtain valuable information. As you may recall, I experienced a bit of trauma when I was first acquainted with a squatty potty (a porcelean hole in the ground with ridged grippers on either side).  My inner germ phob is still a little uneasy with the mess of water found around the squatty, but the rolling method that I've learned from fellow travelers on this trip has made the squatty itself seem less intimidating.  In case you ever need it, here’s how it works.  Simply roll your pants from the waist down until they’re gathered into a big bunch near your knees.  This way the bottom edges won’t end up touching the water, dirt, or germs on the floor.  I hope it makes your travels more enjoyable.

I would be amiss to mention a benefit of group travel without adding a drawback.  On this trip, I’ve discovered how easily germs spread when traveling in a group.  Mark and I began having cold and allergy symptoms on the flight from Delhi to Mumbai.  By the time we got to Mumbai, the symptoms like runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, and coughing, were really strong.  Even so, everyone wanted to share our food.  We warned them that we had symptoms, but no one seemed to care.  Well, now about half of us have this super-resurging cold.  Thankfully, the cough syrup here is dynamite.  At the pharmacy, I was able to obtain OTC cough syrup that treats whooping cough and bronchitis.

Sounds like you are mastering the sqwatty potty. Good for you. Think I might pass on that experience.
