Today was a FULL saturday at staging. The morning opened with the previous written about educational workshop and was packed full completely after that as well.

After lunch we were given the awesome chance to see our show performed by the staff, some guests, and recent alums living in the Denver area. The show was broken into segements and after each segment was performed Eric would stop everything and explain to us the purpose of that segment. It was the first time that we were able to see our entire show performed from beginning to end. Totally cool. There are a few songs added to this show that have never been performed before so we are excited to be the premiering cast! To see everyone on the stage with the lights and everything was so cool. So many pieces started to make sense that we have been learning this entire time. I wish they would have had a movement hour after the show presentation becuse everyone was so pumped up!

Right at the end of the show presentation, Eric stopped the music and had all of Cast B leave the audience and join the staff on the stage then they played the UWP theme song! It was so incredible! It was the first time that we performed it as an entire cast. Even though there were only about 15 people in the audience, it still felt so exhilerating to be on stage, with the show lights shining on us, and people taking pictures of us, and to be jamming out to "Up, Up with People...." I don't think anyone could have gotten the smile off of my face. I'll never forget that moment.

After the show presentation, the cast was broken up into hometeams. We didn't really know what "hometeams" were when they told us to meet them. I am in Hometeam 6. This hometeam includes: Kristine (from Norway), Caitlin (from Wyoming), Micheal (from Tucson), Niels (from the Netherlands), Anna (from Minnesota), Coy (from Denver), Rachel (from New Mexico), Shiona (from Japan), and myself. Our leaders are Gabe and Anthony.

When we met up with them, Gabe  told us that they had an adventure for us and that we were going to be going somewhere in the Sherman Center that no one else in the cast was going to be able to go. We were lined up and they had us close our eyes and they led us to this place in the building (which would totally be hazing in Arkansas, but was oh-so-cool to get to do without worrying about getting in trouble!). I was the leader of the line and I have to admit that I was totally stressed out at first because I didn't have anyone's shoulders to hold on to. When you're walking with your eyes closed it always feels like you are one step away from falling down the stairs or walking into a wall! Gabe has a very calm and reassuring voice so after a little bit I started to trust that he wouldn't let me walk into anything. There were a few times that I would start to take a step and he would stop me and make me turn to another direction. After a little bit I started to just trust that I wasn't near anything even when it felt scary to me.

When we got to our destination Gabe had us "describe" the room we thought we were in. It sounded like an empty room that was dark. We could hear cars but they seemed above us. When they had us open our eyes the room didn't look a thing like I expected it to! It was full of boxes and had the lights on. They had led us to a room underneath the Sherman Center that is below the cafeteria. It was neat to be somewhere that no one else would get to see, even if it was just a storage space.

After that we did a get-to-know you activity. It was fun to just sit and hear stories and laugh for a little while. Gabe told us that our hometeams will meet every other week or so while on the road and it will be a group just to support us and talk about things when we need to. Our hometeams leaders are the people we can go to if we are stressing out or something is bothering us. I really liked our hometeam experience so I'm looking forward to getting to spend more time with them on the road.
