I have to admit that I was terrified of starting this adventure. I had completely mixed emotions of not wanting to come at all anymore and also wishing it could start sooner because I couldn't wait to meet everyone. It felt crazy to feel both extreme emotions. Flying into Denver was the longest hour and 45 minutes of my life because I couldn't wait to land to finally meet my castmates and the staff for UWP.

On the plane ride my neighbor was a man from India. He was flying with his family for a wedding and asked me all about UWP. I told him that the thing I was most excited about was getting to eat food from all over the world. :) (if you know me, you know this is so true). He told me that I should try Indian food before (which I had never done before) and I made the off-hand comment that if I ever was in India than I definitly would. When we got off of the plane in Denver he and his family offered me some bahkrie, which is like a sweet tortilla bread. It was so cool to start the trip off with an experience like that. It also made the trip go by a little faster because he asked me a lot of questions about UWP and what I wanted to do with my life. When we parted ways in the terminal everyone in the family gave me a big hug and wished me well on my trip. They made the first start of this journey very memorable and I'm very appreciative with how kind they all were to me.

It was also exciting because when I got off of the plane ande finally met some UWP folks I had this huge piece of bread and was able to break the ice by telling them all this story and offering them a piece of the bahkrie. No one told me no which was pretty cool.

The first person I met from my cast was Timothy. His plane landed right after mine and I recognized him from facebook. It was exciting to finally see a familiar face. Isn't it crazy how facebook allows us to get to know eachother before meeting in person? Timothy is super funny and easy to talk to so I was glad he was my first (in person) UWP friend.
