This morning started very pleasantly because for once I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn and get ready to move somewhere else. Mum and I got ready at a very slow rate then meandered out the door and towards the Millennium Centre. We didn't know it at the time but Cardiff is actually quite spread out so it was another good hour of walking before we reached the destination. I'd suggest that anyway wanting to move around Cardiff should use the strange one carriage trains that they have.
Once we reached the docklands area we both made a b-line to the Doctor Who exhibition. Probably not to everyone's taste but since we both had grown up watching episode after episode of the timelord's shenanigans we were both pretty stoked to get a close experience of the monsters and props. My favourite part of the exhibition was getting to touch the PJs that David Tennant wore during his first episode as the doctor.
After that excitement was over we crossed the road and had morning tea of Welsh Tea Cakes in a cafe attached to the Millennium Centre. Wandering the main entrance hall later on I realised that it was the location of another Dr Who episode where it had been transformed into the reception area of a hospital on New Earth.
Outside was also an exciting location as the towering fountain/sculpture appears as the 'guest' entry to the Torchwood base (another of my favourite shows).
Learning from our previous mistake we jumped on a shuttle train and powered back into the city centre where we had a bit more of a look around before heading back to the hostel for the night.
