We took the ferry to Nantucket Island first thing in the morning. The weather was absolutely perfect, calm and sunny. The crossing was very smooth and we got to Nantucket in just over an hour.

Nantucket is beautiful, real picture-postcard stuff. We hired a couple of bikes from one of the many bike-hire shops. We biked along Milestone Road to Siasconset on the far east of the island. After a break and a drink (and a couple of cookies!) we headed back to Nantucket town along Poplis Road which is quite scenic going past some bogs and a lighthouse (that was in the process of being moved - literally, it was on a platform and being rolled away from the cliff-edge!)

Nantucket is very affulent, there's a lot of money there. Some of the houses are really beautiful, new and luxurious. Others are older, smaller clapboard houses, but just as beautiful - and still expensive!

We had a brief walk around town before having a late lunch at a nice restaurant. We dipped into a couple of shops and went back to the port to catch the ferry back to Harwich Port. From there we droe back to Hyannis for our last night in Cape Cod. We went back to the Cape Cod Inn where we got a discounted rate for going back!
