Finally, after many false starts, we get on the way to Laos. This involved a 6 hour bus journey and a 2 day boat cruise down the Mekong River. The boat journey was a wee bit cramped, but overall very enjoyable. The river meanders through the jungle and mountain ranges of Laos - it was beautiful. We spent the night in a very small village, which doesn't have electricity in the evening time! As a result, they have a telly in the street working from a generator, where the whole village gathers to watch the box!
