Then Mark and I caught Le Petit Train and did a lap of Tours in the train whilst Milly strolled around on her own. Then we met up back at our hotel, booked some more accommodation for our trip and headed out for dinner.
We went back to Place Plumereau for dinner and bought delicious ice creams for dessert. They have the most fantastic ice cream flavours here and the yummiest soft serve!
After dessert we strolled down to a pub beside the loire river where the locals were partying and swing dancing and we joined in with the dancing for a few hours.
So far, I have noticed a few interesting things about France:
- The country is extremely dog friendly and dogs are everywhere. In our hotel, on the street, in restaurants, in cafes and even at chateaus.
- Heaps of people smoke everywhere and constantly. It is very much accepted here and it's difficult to avoid passive smoking.
- Everything opens quite late. People seem to wake up late in the day and stay up til past midnight because it doesn't get dark until about 10 or 11pm and generally the weather is very nice at night time.
- Almost everything is child friendly and even at the pub at midnight there were families there with their children/toddlers dancing around.
