After Surfer's Paradise I gave my Uncle David and Aunt Jean a call. He was not around for the dinner the previous evening, but was living in the same area, and my cousin Dean gave us the number to get in contact. We popped round for what we thought would be a flying visit, not wishing to intrude on their Sunday afternoon, but we ended up staying for about 9 hours! The time flew by as I got to know the Uncle and Aunt I had not seen since I was 6, and Anna got to meet yet more of my huge family, a daunting 24 hours for her no doubt! We were made to feel very welcome that afternoon and were sorry that we could not stay any longer than we did.
We both vowed to return to Australia sooner rather than later, and reunions with the family I ahd met over the last two days would definitely be in our plans.
