The one thing we were looking forward to and waiting for since we found out we were coming here was our school's fashion show!! Accademia Italiana is the second best fashion school in all of Italy (behind Polymoda, which is also in Florence) and it was incredible to be a part of it.

We were offered to help backstage with the models and designers but we turned it down because we wouldn’t have been able to see the show that way. However, Shelley did and she was the English translator for the entire show.

We had a pre party at our apartment before the show. Everyone from ISU at our school, the students we’re friends with at Lorenzo De Medici, and a few friends we met at school all came over. We cleaned our apartment a ton and had everyone bring an appetizer to relax and get ready before the show. Our advisor from Iowa State, Ann Thye, also flew in for the show so we met up with her at the location.

When we got to the location, there was a gallery before hand with the work of the graphic designers. We walked around it for a while and got a few drinks as we waited for the doors to open. We were lucky enough to get seats up front and the show was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!

Every designer got to pick their own music for their models to walk to and it created an amazing mood. All of the models were professional and brought in by Macedonia and they also had a few professional dancers and actors brought in to act during the show. The designs were absolutely incredible and original; I have never seen anything like it.

Every year Accademia Italiana gives out awards to designers who have helped and inspired the students most and they were there to accept them. There were famous film directors, designers, and to top it off, Mrs. Swarovski!!!!

For the after party our school rented out one of the most popular discotecas in Florence, Twenty-One. All of the students, some teachers, and the models were all there celebrating and we had a great time and met a lot of new friends from our school.
