10.29.09               A Day Of Rest - & The Itinerary Of Things To Come

Today, Murray and I are enjoying a bit of a day of rest.  Murray is off doing laundry at a local lavanderia (for the record, he is out of clean "socks and jocks," while I still have plenty to keep me going…!), while I am in our little room in Guesthouse La Sagrada Familia.  Our room is located on the fifth floor of an apartment building and has great views of Barcelona's pastel-colored, balconied buildings.  It is a gorgeous day outside (yesterday was quite overcast; today it is perfectly clear), and I am sitting at a little desk near an open window, listening to the sounds of the city and catching up on all my journaling.  The down time is good (and probably, so is the break away from one another, although I have found that so far, Murray and I make pretty excellent travel partners… a big relief, considering we still have ten weeks to go!). This afternoon, we are toying around with the idea of going to Gaudi Park and bringing along our own picnic (culled from the local bakery and supermarket), although afternoon plans will depend entirely on Murray’s stomach, which has been a bit dodgy since last night (could it be that blood sausage he ate and I refused to eat?!). At any rate, if we do get out and do more this afternoon, I will post with tomorrow’s entry.

In the meantime, a few of you have asked for our full itinerary, so you know what’s “up and coming” during this big trip of ours.  [The itinerary is laid out on the trip route/map points on this site, but for ease of use, I’ve again pasted our full itinerary below.  Many of our exact destinations (such as the week in Morocco, the two week s in Italy, and the weeks in Greece and Turkey) have yet to be determined, so stay tuned for future entries!  I’m sure you’re on the edge of your seats… Hah.]  Read on:
