Well the past few days has seen me come down with a bit of a heavy cold.....thank goodness it wasn't the flu.  But I felt aweful enough to stop a few extra days in Rockhampton in an attempt to sleep it off.  It seems to have worked, and 3 days later I'm feeling well enough to travel again.

In the meantime I've fitted in a quick visit to Yeppoon, the sceen of many of my family summer holidays. That's not a beach you say? Well it was the only beach we knew growing up.....what a shock it was to discover that waves could be higher than your head when we eventually had a holiday on the Sunshine Coast when I was of an age to remember (we visited the Gold Coast when I was three but I don't remember that much just the cold rain and a highway that was more than 2 lanes wide!!). The extra few days in Rockhampton also gave me a chance to catch up with my Aunt Patsy and cousin Josephine......I've included a photo for all those family members who are intrested.  Aunty Patsy, Josephine, and Jo's Son Corey who's 11.

I finally hit the road again and headed towards my first overnight camping spot in Emerald, stopping for a late lunch in my old home town of Dingo.
I was lucky to recognise a few old familiar faces while I was there which was great, and had a nice chat to Michelle Ferguson, Darren Bauman and Rob Brittain (Snr).  A quick tour past my old house and I was on my way once again for my overnight destination of Emerald.

Clover has not encountered any further mishaps so far, and the bed in the back has definitely served it's purpose on my first overnight stop here in Emerald.
Stay tuned for more when I reach my next destination of Blackall.
