Where I stayed
The Rostorp hood
Some worry about travelling to foreign climes - I just worry about going 'home'. Well, to England at least, which has long since ceased to be my place of residence. After nearly 15 years in the clinical sterility and relative efficiency of my adoptive homeland Sweden, there are plenty of causes for concern, even on a measly 10-day trip. Will I be able to cope with the dubious hygienic implications of having carpet in the bathroom in my temporary residences? Will I manage to contain my paranoia and claustrofobia in a country with about 6 times as many people? Will I stare blankly at people who venture to jest with me? Will I even comprehend how to use an Oyster card? And will I look down in bemusement, wondering if I have suddenly grown webbed feet when addressed by well-meaning bus drivers in Sheffield?
