I arrived at Temple Meads Station and phoned home for my Dad to collect me. They all came to collect me! The initial meeting was quite a shock for my folks! I think I had grown some, and changed some too! Lots of water under the keel!
    My brother thought I sounded Australian! My Dad said nothing as was his way, but smiled! My Mum was all over me much to my embarrassment, and my little sister was no longer little!  All in five months and something days!!!!
    Bristol was as wonderful as it always has been to get home to!  All the neighbours wanted to chat every time I met them in the street. My mates had all become workers in one place or another. Apprentice Draughtsmen, Cadet Policemen, Trainee Tobacco engineers, all busy, and me on leave with nothing to do for a whole month or so!
    After two weeks I was bored ! Wanted to get back to sea! A card arrived with a picture of Coverack in Cornwall? PJ beckoning me to come down to the sea and the beautiful girls on holiday!
    That's another story to tell!!!!
