We spent the evening walking round Prague, first down the river, then across Charles Bridge, then back through the old town. It was teeming with tourists, but still very picturesque.
I was reminded how different my experience of Prague is because I'm travelling with a Czech speaker. We saw what looked like a handy short cut and were about to cut through when a large man stepped out of the shadows and wagged his finger very sternly. P apologised, in Czech, and the guy explained why we couldn't cut through what was actually a museum, and the recommended a place for good takeaway coffee for a Czech (as opposed to all the tourist espressos and cafe americanos). It did make me wo der if I am enjoying Prague so much simply because everyone seems friendly, which they are to a gregarious native Czech speaker.
