So what do we do with out time on sea days?  Here is the run down.  We usually drag ourselves out of bed and try to make it to breakfast before they stopped serving it.  Then we attend the various lectures they have.  On this cruise we have a port lecturer who is very knowledgeable and a guy who lectures on music and entertainment.  His lectures have been about opera, Broadway, jazz and today vaudeville.  It's not heavy stuff but he plays some music and it is interesting.  Last Friday we had terrible weather - not seasick weather, but it just poured rain.  It was a good day to read, nap or watch a movie. They did have a "Name that Tune" contest that Ken and Andrea won hands down and they now have 12 Regent points to exchange for schwag at the end of the cruise.
Yesterday in the after noon the crew had a "country fair".  This was really fun, each department on the ship had created carnival type games.  Here are some pictures.  They included a game where the housekeeping staff put an apron on you and you had to race three other players to stuff a pillow in a pillow case.  They had a name that tune game with the orchestra personnel, a game where you had to identify spices, from the restaurant people.  A booth were you could put makeup on your partner blindfolded, a fun horse race and a martini dash.  Even though it was cloudy and windy, we all had fun.

We crossed the equator last night so today we had an equator crossing ceremony where all of us pollywogs (people who had never crossed the equator at sea) were turned into shellbacks by King Neptune.  It was hilarious as a few passengers got slimed with bright colored gunk and everyone had a kiss a fish.  The crew payed the important roles of King Neptune and his court and the captain of the ship also showed up to read his part of the script.

Tomorrow we finally make it to Brazil and are going on an 8 hour tour in Recife.  We will keep all of you informed on what we learn about Recife, Brazil.
