Sorry guys, it's been a while.  Have had lots of visitors and no time for blogging.  So I first need to update you on the mysterious animal that Ken and I saw last week.  I checked in with the people at the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge.  What we saw was a Florida Panther (they are now calling them Eastern Panthers).  They are an extremely endangered species.  The State of Georgia doesn't want to acknowledge their presence in Georgia because that kicks in a whole lot of things that the state has to do to protect them.  Apparently there have been other sightings where we were.  There are building environmental pressures on these shy cats in Florida and they are expanding their range.  We were very fortunate to spot one of these, however fleeting the glimpse was.

In the last week we have walked the ocean, participated in more fun beer tastings, gone out to Tybee Island to visit one our favorite haunts, The Crab Shack and enjoyed the extraordinary weather. We drove to Beaufort and out to the barrier islands,  It is beautiful out there but the entire area is extraordinarily dry.  We have seen too many alligators, due to the warm, sunny weather. Two days ago it was 80 degrees and we were able to use the pool down by the ocean comfortably. That is, without having to run back to the villa once we were out of the water.

Yesterday we went back to the Laurel Hill drive looking for good birds.  What we spotted the Northern Harrier Hawk again but also several Merlins (our best guess) along with all sorts of ducks and wading birds.  What we saw unexpectedly was a bobcat and two black bear cubs (didn't spot the mother but I am sure she was around).

We toured around with our friend Byron and then Ken's Mom and brother, Kevin. Ken, Byron and Kevin played golf one day.  We have now moved to another villa that is on the ocean and is wonderful, apparently the best villa on the property.  Yesterday I spotted two woodstorks and an anhinga in the salt marsh.

Today has been low key, guests have all gone,  We are going to go to a couple a movies and just take it easy on a cool cloudy day.

Saw Iron Lady, we really thought that Meryl Streep was extraordinary, and in spite of the mostly bad reviews, we found the movie interesting.  Then, in a movie double header, we saw the Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.  Very interesting to compare this movie with the American version.  The Swedish version was more true to the book.

So here's some pics and good night to all.
