This was pretty much a do nothing day but we did hear two lectures that were very interesting.  There is a woman on board, Sandra Bowern, who is a form BBC presenter who gives great, summary type lectures.  She did a great lecture on history of Indochina.  Then there was presentation from Morton Dean.  Those of you who ares of an age will remember him as and a reporter for CBS and later ABC.  He brought me back to the Vietnam war era with many videos from stories he filed back then.  It so made me realize how news reporting has changed.  He absolutely was adamant that no one ever told him what stories to do and how to present them. Seeing those old news stories of young soldiers being interviewed in Vietnam really took me back. I had a hard time shaking the impact.  He is going to give two more lectures which I am looking forward to.  There are a lot of Vietnam vets on this cruise who are remembering a lot of tough stuff.

This evening we sat in the bar at the front of the ship listening to the great pianist they have every night. We saw boats with very bright lights.  Apparently they are squid fishing.  The squid are attracted by the bright lights and they come up to the surface to investigate and get caught in the nets.  Shining squid I guess.
