Salutations mes amis! As you can probably guess from the title...

It's raining.

Not just a light shower, but it's raining hard. It's been raining all day long so I've been cooped up in the house going stir crazy with boredom. Looks like there'll be no adventuring today. I wish I had a rain hat and a raincoat and my rainboots so I could run outside and be a five year old. But no, if I went outside now I'd just get all wet and probably catch a cold because it's cold outside.

Oh well.

So I was going write a separate entry for this, but I decided against it. On Tuesday Cyril informed me out of the blue that he had been successful in buying tickets for the Muse concert I wanted to go to and they had come in the mail on Monday. I was totally shocked that he was able to get them because he'd told me he wasn't sure if he could. Only one problem though:

The concert is this weekend.

I had virtually no time to plan in advance so that very same night, I frantically began searching for train tickets, hotel reservations, taxi prices and more. I began to stress thinking of how I'd possibly pull off going to a concert in Paris 4.5 hours away. Train tickets and hotel prices were over 100 euros respectively. Not to mention finding a taxi to Stade de France would be costly. I added up all the added expenses of going to the concert when I realized I'd be spending around 300 euros, not including the price of the concert ticket itself. So after an hour of so of researching, I admitted defeat and accepted that I just wouldn't be able to go. At least my ticket will be a pretty awesome souvenir.

Yesterday, though, I finally got to go to downtown Quimper with Alida and Joffrey for drinks and a delicious three course meal. We had our before dinner drinks at a popular little place Alida used to work at. For dinner, after scouring the menus of at least 6 different restaurants, we finally decided on one and boy was it fancy! We chose Nova Restaurant a semi-upscale looking place with a menu that boasted traditional French cuisine. Upon scanning the menu, we all decided on a three course formule that included: une entrée (appetizer), un plat (entrée), and un dessert. I chose the 27 euro formule (woah, big spender) and opted for foie gras served with chutney and salade as an appetizer, entrecôte something something as an entrée, and mousse chocolat for dessert. My friends, let me say that this is probably the fattest I've been in a long long time. I have been starved at home (as i've explained), so this meal is the best meal I've had since I've been here. I'm not going to bore you trying to explain how delicious my meal was so I'll just post some pictures and leave it to your imagination.

Tonight we're having more guests over for dinner so hopefully we'll have a very good meal. I volunteered to help Angélique, but the control freak within her denied my offer. Fine with me, I tried... So for now, I'm off to watch Avatar for the approaching evening with big plans and a good meal chez Alida for Friday.

Je vous aime!

Bisous

I feel really awful that you're unable to attend the concert of a lifetime! Especially since you're right there! It's ok, they'll be back in FL.

Ps: fat. (but the food looked SO good)

Haha, really it's okay! I'm still going to the concert in Carhaix... like 45 minutes away :)
