I HAVE ARRIVED!

I actually arrived in Quimper yesterday (le 18) but I was far too excited and tired to write anything. My train ride was nice and I fell asleep just about every 10 minutes. But finally, I arrived in my final destination of Quimper. Well, not really. I actually am staying in a quiet little town called Tremeoc. Anyway, I got off the train and searched for a young couple and a baby but there was none to be found. Instead, a jolie young lady approached me with a smile. That was Angélique, the mother in my host family. We exchanged une bise and started up a conversation as we left the train station.

We talked and talked but I was pretty much out of it. Too tired to function so I drank in everything around me. When we arrived at the house, Cyril, her husband of sorts greeted me as well and they both gave me a tour of the house. They live in Tremeoc, comme j'ai dit, in the beautiful countryside. Their neighborhood is very charming and all of the houses are too. Their house, however, is much more modern on the outside and on the inside. I was shown to my room and I unpacked and took a LONG rejuvenating shower. Après, they asked if I wanted to go to Angélique's grandmother's house to pick up their son, Liam. I said "bien sûr" and followed. Her grandmother lives in the same area and is a 10 minute walk away. The walk itself is lovely. The neighborhood is beautiful and green and full of classic charm. If I had to live somewhere it would probably be in a similar area; peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. I met Mémé, her grandmother, and Liam, the baby. He is too adorable.

Walking back home, I met some of the neighbours and their children. Everyone was very welcoming and kind. I absolutely adore my family; they are so cool (Angélique is 30, Cyril is 27) and Angélique is so excited to improve her English. Tomorrow we're going to the market to do a bit of grocery shopping and to explore Quimper. My mother may keel over reading this, but they have a motorcycle/scooter and they've agreed to teach me how to drive it. Additionally, Saturday Angélique, sa copine, and I will be going to a discothèque and I'm soo excited! I've been only once, about 5 years ago, and I have a feeling that this time I'll have much more fun. Aussi, nous allons faire du shopping car j'ai rien à porter le samedi.

Aujour'd hui, I succeeded in burning une chocolatine and a croissant, but that's about the worst thing to have happened since I've been here. Everything is exciting and I'm trying to make the best of everyday.

More adventures later!

Bisous
