On our last day in Santa Barbara we got up early and finished packing since we had to drive 2.5 hours down the Pacific Coast Highway to Los Angeles to return the rental car and catch our flight.

We skipped breakfast and went right to the car rental return. Along the way we saw alot of surfers sitting in the ocean waiting to catch a wave. There were other people out jogging, walking and laying on the beach.

We found the rental car place no problem thanks to my gps system. We returned the car and took the shuttle to the airport. It was the usual nonsense going through security.

Once inside we found a little 40's styled diner called Ruby's, to get breakfast at. Everything in the place was set in the 1940-50's era with old stools, soda fountains and old style milk shakes. They also served healthy options, which is unusual for a dinner. They had whole wheat rolls and bread, nothing fried in trans fats. Unfortunately we got there right after breakfast hours were finished so we had to settle on the lunch menu.

I got a Hickory Burger which was good and very filling. The prices at Ruby's were good as well. We ate in the restaurant and then returned to our gate for boarding time.

All in all my trip to California was nice but I would have liked alot more time to explore Santa Barbara, it seemed like a pretty cool town and I would have loved a day in Ventura as well.
