Today was our last day in WV for the holiday weekend, once again everyone was hungover but we decided to go down the New one more time.

Amanda was doing a play trip with some friends using one of Songer's rafts. Brooke went along but Crystal decided not to raft or IK and left a bit early. We packed up as much as we could and got changed for the river.

We dropped my Blazer off at the takeout to use on the way back. We sent Tim to the put-in with our kayaks and used Brooke's car to get us all up there. Me and the guys were paddling the inflatable kayaks again today.

The guys decided that since I didn't swim on our first day of kayaking the New River this weekend that it was going to be carnage day for me. I was ok with it and decided to hit the biggest stuff I could to see what would happen.
Dave decided to try his hand at video boating and used my camera to capture Amanda's raft going through Entrance Rapid.

Up next was Upper Railroad. I rode down the tongue and purposely hit the hole and got flipped. I went for a good, long swim. Mike and Dave also went for a swim. The guys were happy that I finally swam one! Tim helped me get back in my kayak and we continued on.

We pulled in above Lower Railroad. Dave decided he wanted to video the raft going through and to pick out the best carnage line for me to hit.

They decided to have me drop into the hole sideways with no speed. For some reason I agreed to do it and it was a good swim. I got my IK back into the eddy by myself and they ran the rapid. We stayed at Lower Railroad rapid for a long time. We surfed the IKs, the raft, the tubes, the blow-up dinosaur. Nick and Amanda tried out our IKs, I tried a few surfing attempts. Tim did a solo surf attempt in the raft. Me, Mike and Dave and Tim were surfing the raft. We were here playing around for a really long time.

We finally moved down river after a really long time. We bombed through Swimmers, Strippers and Ender Waves rapids. We made sure to run Upper, Middle and Lower Keeney rapids cleanly. The guys did a little bit of surfing in Middle Keeney while I videoed them.  The photographer got really good pictures of us going through Lower Keeney Rapid.

Next we ran the tongue between the holes in Lollygag rapid. In Dudley's Dip rapid I managed to splat my IK off the large rock in the center of the rapid and got spun backwards to ride out the wavetrain. It was pretty cool, I didn't know if an IK could splat but it worked.

We ran Double Z rapid cleanly and the farted around in the flat water and surfed some smaller waves and holes. We pulled in at a small beach on river left and discovered that whatever drunk packed the cooler only packed beer and raw hot dogs for us to PBR it was!

We pulled in at Jump Rock so Scars could go up and self-video his jump, everyone else but Nick refrained from jumping and stayed in the pool below and drank some beers. We surfed some waves in Halls of Karma and Hook 99 rapids.

Once that was out of their system we continued down river through Grey Hound Bus Stopper rapid, the guys decided to try to stand up on their IKs and paddle through the rapid which made for some entertaining carnage.

We rode through Miller's Folly and I pulled in above Prudential Rock to video Amanda and her crew attempt to flip their raft on the rock, which they did.

Up next was my favorite rapid Fayette Station, we rode the wave train through to the bottom. It was a fun day on the river with some good surf attempts, alot of swims and laughs.

It was late in the afternoon when we got to the takeout. We went back to Songer, showered, packed the Blazer and left for the 6.5 hour drive home!
