Hello everyone!

We made it to Ireland! Although, we encountered our first.... detour... I suppose you could say. On Friday we woke up early and left for Stansted Airport, and we made it there, and found everything fine - so we tried checking in, but it was saying check in was closed. It was a pretty hectic airport because it is just a bunch of discount flight companies, so it was pretty chaotic, so we finally find someone to talk to, and after she is looking over it after a little while, she says, very genuinely "Oh my goodness, your flight was yesterday!" Whooooops. So, we had to book another flight for later that day. We got into Dublin at about 14:00 yesterday and it was a little chilly, we found our hostel, which is very cool, it is also a huge bar and nightclub. We stayed in a 4 person hostel which was much nicer than the 14 person hostel we stayed in while in Amsterdam. That afternoon we just walked around the city. The hostel is very close to Trinity College which is beautiful, and close to St. Patrick's. That night we thought it would be appropriate to do the Irish Pub thing so we went to one down the street called Quay's. We met a team of soccer plays from Sweden, and hung out with them for most of the night! After the pub we went to a nightclub that was massive, it was a lot of fun, and then we took a cab home because we had no idea where we were!

On Saturday we woke up a little late, tired from traveling, and went to the post office to mail some things back to the US. Then we went to lunch with our Australian roommates, and then went to the Jameson Distillery which was very cool. I had an Irish Coffee before our tour began and then at the end of the tour they give you a choice between a free Jameson on the rocks, Jameson with Coke, Jameson with ginger ale, or Jameson with cranberry juice. Not being a huge whiskey fan, I chose the cranberry. Amanda did a whisky taste challenge and tried Jack Daniels, a Scotch whiskey, and then Jameson, and at the end she really did like Jameson the best! After the distillery, it was kind of dreary outside so we went into the first pub we found, had a few beers and just relaxed. Well, I guess we stayed there for a few hours until we realized we were hungry, so we went and had some Asian cuisine that was delicious. Afterwards, we went out to a pub again, but by 1:00 we were all very tired so Amanda and I retired back to our hostel, to find a new roommates, a French guy, who is a little odd.

Today we woke up and are hanging out with our Australian friends again, and tomorrow Amanda and I are doing tours of the country side hopefully to see some beautiful Irish castles! I think we've gotten a good feel for the city of Dublin, mostly by doing a lot of walking. We are also planning on going to the James Joyce Museum, Bram Stoker's Dracula museum, Guiness Factory, and I think there are a few other interesting tours.

Dublin is certainly no London or Paris, but it has a great feel to it, and a lot of fun people are around who love to talk to you. They also drink, a lot. So I suppose that's really all I have got for now, Dublin has been a relaxing break from all the excitement of Amsterdam, Paris, and London!

Miss you all!
