Biograd is a resort on the coast where we stopped to take our Padi Open Water diving course. Although I prefer less touristy areas, I still liked Biograd. It has a good atmosphere especially after 7pm when everyone who has been hiding from the sun all day comes out. We ate ice cream by the sea and ate so much fish and seafood, all very fresh and absolutely delicious. The diving was tiring, especially the first day when we didn't finish until 8pm, mainly due to the hour that I spent trying to find a wetsuit that fitted, which was rather embarassing. I struggled in the heat with each one and could either not get my feet in the holes, or if I did that could not get them to do up. After finally finding one we went on our first confined water dive, which if I am honest was not fun and was quite scary. I dived when I was in Egypt and so knew it would get better, but David had not done it before, and hated it. Underwater we had to take off our masks and take our regulators out of our mouths which neither of us enjoyed. Luckily we came back for the second day and things got better from there. Feeling much better and less scared of drowning, we did our open water dives on the last 2 days. Here we got to see many fish of lots of colours, and a conger eel. We also dived a wreck and saw lots of sea slugs. I finally got the hang of buoyancy control. We took our exam and passed (yay!) and then both immediately missed diving and decided we would have to do it again soon. Overall we enjoyed the course and even David who hated the fisrt day decided he had had fun and would dive again in the future.
