We stopped here to see supposedly the most perfect volcano in the world. The first day was a wash-out, wish was a shame as Legazpi city has very little going for it. However, patience was finally rewarded when on the 2nd day the clouds cleared and we were presented with an incredible view of Mayon. The view was made more poignant by the fact that 4 months earlier, the foothills of the volcano had been the scene of a devasting mud-slide, which claimed the lives of hundreds. The volcano is stil active too, so climbing to the summit was not possible.
