Awake really early due to insects biting. Walking by 7:15am. Climbed up to Big Pond Shelter and had a talk to a fella who was away for a week. Pond is more a swamp than anything, then walked over to Saver Cabin which meant to be haunted. 10 scouts at shelter all worried about getting wet as thunderstorm crashing about. They gave me some ice tea which was about 60 – 70% whiskey – great stuff. Rained when thunderstorm broke.
