Slept all right but floor of shelter bloody hard – must be getting old! Traveled from Sassafras shelter to Cable Gap shelter and boy what a day – a solid grunt right from the word go. Up and down whole way. The Aussie must have found extra energy and headed on to Fontana Dam, 7 miles away – good luck to him. Saw tortoise today and had talk to old man at Shekoah Gap. Young man was killed yesterday on a Forest Service Roading site at Shekoah Gap so I was told. Will cook some toast tonight.
