We decided that as the weather was still a bit lousy, we would have a look at the Cadbury Chocolate factory tour and the Speights Brewerey tour. Chocolate came before beer, so we headed to the chocolate factory for a short tour. Lots of free chocolate, especially if you wear something purple, and can answer the questions that your guide throws out all the time. After a snifter around the chocolate shop - and a few purchases, it was off to the beer factory which was more up Andy's alley. This was a 1 hour tour around the factory and included the history of the owner's and the factory itself. It wound up with a taste of the best that Speights had to offer and a lesson on the etiquite of beer drinking.

That filled in some of the day for us, then it was off to Middlemarch where our cabin was (supposedly) waiting and preparations were to be made for the rail trail the next day. Upon arriving in Middlemarch we were told that our accommodation had been double booked and there was no room the camp ground. The very helpful office lady said as it was their mistake they had to find us rooms elsewhere and the cost was their's. After ringing a few places and finding everything full, they finally found us twin beds at the Strath Taiere Hotel, which was a lovely place where we had a few beers and tea.

We got all our gear ready for the next day and with snow falling on the hills went to bed.
