Hiya! Fran here today from Seoul!

We flew the short distance from Fukuoka to Seoul, very excited to be getting to see our family and for Andy's first trip to South Korea! Uncle Jay and my cousin, Elina, (who was one of the flower girls at our wedding) met us at the airport, along with a bag of Krispy Kreme donuts... happy days all round!

The first thing we noticed was how tall Elina was now! Almost as tall as me, and very much a beautiful little lady.
:0)

We drove to pick up Aunty from her nursery in Seocho, where she is head teacher, and went to dinner at a gorgeous Italian whilst catching up on the past 9 months since the wedding. It was so great to be here with them in Seoul! Unfortunately I stupidly didn't take any photos of this, mainly because we looked like tramps who have just come off a plane. (Which is, actually, exactly what we looked like!)

Aunty had generously arranged our accommodation in Seoul and for the first two nights we would be staying in an apartment near her mum and then move into an apartment next to Uncle and Aunty. After dinner it ended up being quite late so we were shown to our latest digs...

Oh. My. Word. I know we've made a few jokes about this being our 'honeymoon' but we are still staying in cheap hostels etc, but for the first time in the 9 months we were truly in awe of the accommodation - it felt like a real, proper honeymoon suite! It was so beautiful! It even came with a huge oval bed, big enough for about 5 people! Naturally, Andy was very excited and impressed, even after the initial fright of the toilet seat automatically rising up when you moved near it. Haha!

Anyway, after a wonderful nights sleep in our luxury pad, we ventured out for breakfast at the 'Milk & Honey' bakery next door and had the most delicious freshly baked breakfast ever! Uncle picked us up around noon to go and meet my Grandma for lunch. We went to a Korean-Chinese and had a lovely lunch with Grandma, who was so happy to see us and meet Andy. She said he was handsome, which is the official 'thumbs up'. Hehe.

After lunch we went back to Uncle and Aunty's place for afternoon tea and sweets. We showed Grandma all the photos from the wedding and had a lovely relaxed afternoon, which included a violin recital from Elina and Danielle.

That evening we had a mammoth 3-way Skype session with the Mahoney siblings and partners and then went out to dinner for a delicious 'galbi' BBQ, before being dropped off for our last night in the honeymoon suite.

Sunday was another family day, but first we had a very important event. It was Elina's boyfriends Birthday! (It's Elina's first ever boyfriend - ahhh!) As the weather all weekend had been terrible due to the back end of a typhoon, it was held at the cinema so we decided to grab a movie too and went to watch Battleship at the iMax. It was a good old fashioned American cheese-fest! Quite funny!

Afterwards, we picked up Elina from her movie party and headed to my other Grandma's place, Aunty's mum, for a big family dinner. We had a wonderful home cooked Korean dinner and had a catch up with all my aunties and uncles and cousins. After the grown ups had dinner, I went to see the little ones who were playing and we had the most fun jumping-on-the-bed game! It was lovely!

After our goodbyes Uncle and Aunty took us to the new apartment in their complex. It was much better to be closer and not a drive away! We said goodbye to Uncle who was leaving for his week of working away and crashed out! It had been a fun filled family weekend!

On Monday we had a rather unsuccessful day's sight seeing! After walking to the National Museum to find out that it was closed, we went to the aquarium (because Aunty's sister gave us free tickets), only for that to be the wrong one! Oops! Never mind, we had a walk around the COEX mall and Seoul Stock Exchange before heading to the Bongeunsa Temple.

Tomorrow should be better as we've booked a tour to the DMZ! Fingers crossed there's no 'acts of aggression'! Gulp!

See you later!
