Hiya, Fran here today!

We woke up on Sunday morning with a serious case of the blues. What a rubbish rugby result... Not only England but Ireland too! Bad times! On top of that we had to say bye to Jon and Laura again and the weather couldn't make up it's mind whether to be sunny or rain, so I was in a blue mood.

We had decided to go to the Northlands this week but had no idea where to go so we got on the road and I read up on the area and called around a few camps. We have pretty much run out of money for NZ as it's turned out a lot more expensive than we thought so we went for the cheapest camp site we found, a place in Ruakaka.

When we got there we were amazed... It was a stunning location and we parked ourselves pretty much on the beach, which I think was the north end of Bream Bay. Tomorrow we planned to walk along the bay but today we just wanted to veg.

It started to rain. And it didn't stop for 3 days! The rubbish weather and our lack of funds meant we could only sit it out, so that's pretty much all we did!

The only highlight was meeting another British couple who had also jacked in their jobs back home to travel the world for a year. After raising their families and working stressful jobs for numerous years I think this adventure is exactly what they deserve! I hope Andy and I will travel again after our children too! (Fingers crossed!) Steve and Viv had just come from China and gave us lots of good tips and we gave them some about the South Island too.

That's literally all there is to say... frustrating!

Bye.....
