Happy Birthday Daddy!

So, after a bit of jetlag (well, a lot really we slept from 2.30pm Saturday until 9.30am today), we`re ready to hit the streets of Rio de Janeiro. Before our long sleep yesterday we strolled along Copacabana beach - how beautiful! The statue of Cristo Redentor (Christ The Redeemer) which looks over the whole city is our first port of call on the sightseeing agenda. Second day in Rio and we brave the public transport, neither of us knowing more than 2 words in Portuguese! We decide to take a private taxi up Corcovado which works out more reasonable than the train - the views from up there over the whole city are breathtaking, the city is massive seeing it from way up there. Quite touristy, but sure, that`s what we are! The vibe in Rio is just totally mad - every single person is on the move - they`re either running, swimming, surfing, doing exercises on the beach, or naturally, the majority are playing "futebol" or beach volley ball. Everyone is smiling and happy and the way of life is carefree.

Tomorrow we head off to Parati which is four hours down the coast towards Saơ Paulo. It`s a quaint colonial town and staying 2 nights in the hotel gives you a free cruise round Parati Bay. Looking forward to that for the relaxation, Rio is too alive to relax! Back to Rio on Wednesday for a "futebol" match at the Maracană (the world's biggest footbal stadium) - how cool!

We`ll update you soon and by then we promise to download some of our many photos and videos.

Miss you all, but we`re in Rio hahaha!!!
