     After spending 4 days in the busy Moscow, it is nice to come out to the country side for a change. Suzdal is another one of the Russian UNESCO treasure. It is one of the former capital of the old Rus empire back inthe 1100's.  The old capital of Rus empire is located in the southern part of the city  called the Kremlin. This is a cluster of churches and cathedral on top of the hill and surround by the river, which makes it stratigically difficult for enemies to invade.  The city did succomb to the invading Tartars byt later rebound back to be an important center of Orthodoxy. Too bad the museum displays are all in Russian, but I am already getting too tired from all this travelling, thus i am just looking at the displays without reading anything.
     All these churches and monasteries are surrounded by a wall, at least the most important ones. There is a good distance between each of these monasteries so by walking amonst them, I got my share of the work out. It seems to me that I have been walking between 12-14 hours each day, now that is exercise......not.
     There is the Deposition Church were unwanted Tsar's wives and left here. The Alexandrovsky church, intercession, and Assumption cathedral are also here.
      I had a dinner in a Russian restaurant, salad, borsch and head on back to my home stay. It is very interesting to see a lot of Russian military people marching and gather near the bus station, may be they there doing drills, I just stand far away.  Russia in general still feels like a police state, plenty of military folks walking around, safe but yet quite scary.
