August 5, Day 2 of my trek.

After surviving the longest night ever, I woke up around 6 am finding everying around my campsite frozen solid and covered in frost.   Burrrr. That was a cold night. After packing my things away, I walked into the kitchen tent for breakfast. I think the lomo saltado and stir fried Alpaca didnīt agree qwith my stomach so our guide Edgar gave me some local tea to take.

Today is supposely our big hike 7 hours altogether. We first headout uphill for 3 hours until we reached the highest point of our journey Saycocha pass 14432 feet, then we descend to our campsite for lunch near Ipeayoocha lake then  we descend into a small town of Patacancha 12300 feet for the night. The uphill trek was something, once again my energy fromt the Sunday hike kicked in so I was ahead of our group pretty much all the way to the top, just stopping once a while to wait for the guide to tell me which path to take. I have this imaginary voice from Zack and David keep on encouraging to go up. It was very cook. We build a stone stack and took some memorable photos that we made it to the top.

The Trek down was much easier but is was still quite long. The scenery was absolutely breath taking. Th eonly noise we heard is the wind and water rushing.  We saw lots of llamas and alpacas grazing the grass and some sheeps as well.  Just wait until yuo see my photos !!!!

The night in Patakancha was better since it was less cold.
