Where I stayed
Hi Everyone,
Since today is Sunday, the tours are closed, I decided to go wtih Angela to the Sunday morning mass. The Catholic church is next to this beautiful coconut grove. I am surprised to learn that the Catholic weekly mass the same around the entire world..wow so that means we can attend Sunday mass even if we are traveling.
I managed to call the front desk and maid again this morning regarding the rat problem, the maid came was very rude to us and told us that rats are normal here and when I politely thanked the maid for cleaning up the mess in aloha and mahalo, she responded "whatever that meant". So rude......
I am also quite shocked to find so many Filipino residents here on the island, apparently during the last century, lots of Filipino labors came to the Hawaiian islands for farm jobs and ended up staying here after all the plantations closed. There are actually more Filipinos than native Hawaiians.
After the mass, we decided to take a tour of the east coast of Molokai and see some real estates here. The Eastern part of the island is much wetter than the western part and lush in rainforest plants. The coastline is absolutely stunning, although that made the drive just that much harder....one line highway that is. We reached the end of the road at the cliff that turned to a dead end. I walked out from the end of highway sign and saw a very cute beach. As I return, Angela called to my attention about a major scratch that she found at the rear bumper of the rental car....oops....I can't even remember how that even happened. All I can think of the the famous Chinese proverb " spend money and erase bad fortune". We returned our car that evening and the car rental company told us the scratches were there already, it was damaged by another driver and they paid dearly for it. It was a sight of relief.....
