We arrived at the ferry terminal around 3 and we got picked up by the guy from the hotel in his pick up which a few of the lads had to ride in the back of with the luggage. We arrived at the hotel and it was amazing right on the beach front we had a hut on stilts with air con and you could hear the sea lapping against the shore. We then headed over to the pool which was an infinity pool looking out over the ocean. After quickly getting changed we jumped straight in! after spending the rest of the day at the pool we got changed and headed to a local Italian that had been recommended. It was ran by an Italian and was really good food and it had been a while since I had had a nice pizza. After this we headed back to the hotel and got lost and had to climb up a little cliff face to get back. We then went up to the hotels reception to watch the Liverpool game and then went to bed.
Day 48 -
After a lie in we headed up to the hotel infinity pool to chill all day and catch some sun. around 6 when it was getting a little cooler around 35C we had a game of football on a grassy patch next to our huts which was so tiring in the heat. We decided to head down to Haad Rin which is the beach the full moon party takes place on around a 45 minuet drive from our hotel. We caught a lift off a local tuk tuk and headed to the beach. It was pretty crazy with loads of people fire dancers and music with everybody drinking buckets. After a few hours dancing, playing in the sea and foam we decided to head back to the hotel after a lovely chicken sandwich and caught a tuk tuk back.
Day 49 -
Today is the day of the full moon party and after last night we deserved a lie in to ensure we would be able to stay out a bit later tonight. After getting up we headed back to the pool and the pool side restaurant and spent the day there. We caught a ride in the back of the hotels pick up down to Haad Rin at around half 10. If I thought last night was busy this was unbelievable and before we even got to the beach we had all put rave paint on! The beach was mental with thousands of people all dancing and peeing in the sea! All along the beach are stalls selling all manor of food and drinks and the hotels had all open their toilets to non guests for 10 baht a time, as I had converse on this was my only option. We spent our night walking up and down the beach partying and as the sun was coming up me and Ste decided to limbo under the fire rope which was pretty damn hot. We only did it when it was around 4 or 5 feet off the ground as any lower and we could have ended up with a serious injury. We decided to head back to the hotel around 9am.
Day 50 -I guess half of yesterday should be in today’s post! We pretty much wrote off today and only left the room for dinner around 7pm choosing to spend the day watching entourage on our laptops.
Day 51 -
Today was pretty much like the first two days with the pool and poolside restaurant the order of the day.
Day 52 -
We spent the day by the pool again today but shock of shocks we decided to go out for dinner so made the 5 minuet walk down the pitch black jungle path into the town. We went to the Italian which was really nice and served traditional food. After this we headed back to the hotel along the path with no lights and for some reason to make it even scarier a dog was following me and Higham! We managed to loose the golden retriever after a few minuets and got back to the sanctuary of the room!
