As I now write the final entry for this blog on a chilly Sunday morning in Sydney, I keep thinking "How long have I been awake for now?"

Our final day in Mykonos was with some relief as we packed up our things for the long trip home. When we arrived at Mykonos airport for our flight to Athens, it was full of Australians which was no surprise. Our next flight to London was about 4 hours long, further enhanced by a screaming baby. I thought the Mexican wave was the only crowd co-ordinated activity, until the baby started crying again and I heard the collective Greek groan.

Upon arrival into London, we had to transfer from Terminal 1 to 3 which, according to the Heathrow website, takes 11 minutes. I think they were timing Cathy Freeman when they made that assumption. The Qantas staff advised us that all of Business Class was gone due to a paxing airline crew (lousy flight attendants!), so we tried our luck with Cathay Pacific instead. They were happy to take us and had extra seats. I decided not to push our luck and ask for an upgrade, since I was grateful to have any ticket at this stage.

When we landed in Hong Kong, the airport staff similarly told us that the Business Class was also not guaranteed to Sydney and gave us Premium Economy tickets in the meantime. Clearly Ted and I have already forgotten about Economy Class since we considered staying in HK if we didn't get our coveted Business Class! I was so upset I could barely eat my McDonald's sweet potato pie. But fortunately we did receive it so we were guaranteed to have a comfortable and snobby ride home.

We were so exhausted by this stage that we were hoping to go straight to sleep as soon as the aeroplane took off. Unfortunately it seemed like air traffic control had forgotten about us as we didn't start taxiing for about an hour. After nine hours of amenities kits, bathrooms with flowers, privacy screens, fully-reclining skybeds and bodum coffee, we were home. Hooray!

As I sit here typing, struggling to stay awake, the whole 3.5 week holiday with 16 flights and 10 destinations seems like a bit of a dream. Thanks for following our adventures and we hope you enjoyed our blog. Hasta Luego.
