After a great nights sleep I woke up full of enthusiasm for a day by the pool, relaxing and soaking up some sun, its a strange feeling being this close to going home and one that is very difficult to describe, I suspect Rorie and Emer are the only people who know this feeling, its a kind of depressing excitement.

We managed to last out till 11.30 before we hit the breako buffet, which being a buffet was eat as much as you physically can, something that we are clearly out of practice at. I like to think of myself as someone thats pretty handy round a buffet table however our shrunken stomachs, lighter frames and less greedy outlook on life restricted us to only a plate and half full, a pathetic effort, I need to go back into training. With sausages, eggs, bacon and also the Mexican special dishes it was a bloody tasty old fayre though. Frustratingly for us though this is real package holiday location and with a high majority being fom the USA tippíng is expected. We are simply, tight fisted Northern tossers and I fail to see why I should tip a grumpy miserable sod, who did absolutely nothing but pick up two plates after we left, that is what a buffet is all about you help yourself to everything however before we left the guy came over and requested a $5 tip to be paid in cash not added to the bill. I nearly spat my refried beans all over his apron at that one and I think we may need to sit in a different area tomorrow. Erica agrees, a tip can be paid when the service is very good, if its a miserable tosspot he gets jack, and on this trip we have always agreed that we should never tip when somebody asks for a tip, usually these people are also least deserving.

Anyway I promised short blogs to keep my sanity. We retired back to the pool and queued up a couple of times to use the hotels single computer, generally in a queue behind 20'odd year olds who to be frank should be spending days and nights out on the razz not spending time on facebook discussing work and what they are missing from home on a one week package holiday..... oh no that grumpy middle aged man is coming out in todays blog, quick lets get some tequila out!

Although we had promised to miss dinner as we had booked our last organised tour of the trip for tomorrow and we were missing breako, we found a pasta dish on the menu for 1.50 which was plain pasta with some cheese, so with a few glasses of water we were done and asleep early ready for our early start and our final tour of the trip - Chichen Itza.
