After a late night trying to sort out our plans and trying to make sure we can let Cheryl and Siong know when we will arrive with them in Singapore we realised the Air Asia sale to and from Singapore made it ridiculous to not book the flights. Despite me getting the ear plugs and sleep masks out for the lady she opted not to use them, I fell asleep at about 23:30 yet Erica stayed awake listening to the man next door snoring very very loudly. The rooms are not at all soundproof so she was up till 03:30 checking out my blogs so we could publish them.

She therefore would not get up in the morning but when she did we had a 6 Ringget breako of sausage, eggs and something that we didn't realise we had missed... "Baked Beans". We decided to set off and try and do our own tour as the tour companies were far too much. The tour leader (me) led us to the bus station but we missed the bus by about 3 minutes (there is only a bus every hour and a half as there is only one bus so it has to do the whole journey then come back). We therefore set off into the jungle to see some waterfalls and look at the jungle. We then found a strawberry farm where they grew.... strawberries (as well as tomatoes and lettuces). Erica went mental, I had a strawberry ice lolley, and a strawberry lassi Erica ordered a huge Strawberry Sundae and was like a little girl just so excited.

Erica edit:  I just saw squirty cream and started to hyperventilate.

We then walked to a butterfly museum before heading off to a tea plantation, the biggest draw here, by this time we had walked about 16km but the views were stunning, we had a quick walk around the factory and skipped tea on the balcony as it was too expensive. We walked the 2km back to the main road but Erica was really struggling by this stage (her hip had started to hurt somehow). I was trying to hitch a lift on buses and shared transport but to no avail.  Eventually we managed to hitchhike back home (a first on this trip) but it was free which is great. We got back to the hostel and were so tired we just sat and drank some cheap beers.

We gave a quick revisit to the Indian stall from last night, it is just unbeatable in terms of the taste, volume and value criteria. We then went to bed Lady E asleep by 19:30 but I was up till 23:00 trying to sort out what to do about Australia.

Tomorrow we leave for the Perhention Islands off the North East coast of Malaysia for a bit of a chill out because that is all we have wanted to do since we left Myanmar. Still we hear rumours of no internet and no leccy. We are then trying to get the 'jungle railway' but just cant seem to get tickets to Taman Nagara the oldest rainforest in the world and famous for not being able to hike without getting covered in leeches (bring it on). From there we are heading to Singapore to see Cheryl and Siong before going to Bali and Sumatra to end SE Asia.

that's it. that's a contender for greatest title. it gives:

1) Extra stinky sauce and a belly wash please cock
2) Lets get drunk
3) Do chinese people gamble?

a run for their money anyway ;)

and number 2 can always be followed up with a fergal classic - manchester c. 1999 perhaps?!?
