The train arrived at 4:30am and we had to wait only 14 hours with no hotel or anything so we knew today was going to a horrible, horrible day. Add this to tired trekking legs, no sleep and a missing bus to collect us at the train station and the day started off badly. We ended up waiting an hour until the sun had risen and the rats started to disappear back to their hiding places. The heat was already a major source of annoyment to the Lady and it would be fair to say we were not in the best of moods. We ended up walking around Hanoi with the bags just getting more and more furious with each other and everything. Still the lows (today) make you appreciate the highs (the last two days) even more.

After checking a few hotels for a price for 4 hours (always sounds dubious but again with such a stunning male specimen they problem thought I was a he whore) we decided we would save the cash and do the old how long can a bottle of water last in an air conditioned cafe that has wireless.

Anyway I think we have had long enough in Nam and its time to go to Laos today. We have booked on a shared bus at 2pm to the airport so we can split up our mincing about between the city and the airport (we are hoping that we can get a couple of hours sleeping on the floor there). We have booked a cheap guest house in the centre of Luang Prabang and know very little about Laos so are looking forward to learning more 'stuff', drinking some more foreign booze, raving with the kids and a new cuisine.

So we have also read the Guardian website today to catch up with news, UK sounding odd at the moment with super long tennis games, Lib Dem warn spending cuts could break up coalition government, Prince Charles at Glasto (instead of us), and England winning a game in the World Cup. We are adamant we will watch the German v England game as we haven't been bothered at all with the football. Carleen (as in Hanson not Spearmint Rayno) has sent us some pics of her in her glamorous England Strip in the open air screening in Castlefield.

Mmmm what else, perhaps Stevie R will set us another challenge although I suspect we are venturing away from his knowledge base. Graham and Gregg are clearly not raving enough at the moment as we are only getting a trickle of the 3-5am comments that they are famous for. And we still haven't caught up with Fergus.

Anyway perhaps I'll leave you with a poo summary (Erica completely disassociates herself with this part)
Russia - Normal
Mongolia - Large and slightly sloppy but frozen before they hit the staligmite in the hole below
China - Orange (Yes really)
India - Small and Diahorrea
Phillipenes - Very thin and about 4cm in length - oh and diahorrea
Vietnam - A mixture of long and thin and diaroheea.
Anyway thats all folks.

Dil Blog - 25-06-2010

Spent the last 2 hours catching up with Stepho and The Lady whilst trying to look like I was listening to what Jenny was saying to me - not got a clue what she has said all night.

The blog is still great and i'm slightly depressed at the fact i'll be waking up in Warrington again tomorrow.

Booooooooo

Dang those Germans, Lampard scored a great goal; and the Argies got through to with some awful decision making. Hope you had chance to watch it all, S

Also I may have said this before but :

How do you know you're in the third world? People pee in the street and there are often more than two people on each motorbike. Nothing to do with GDP per cap or GINI coefficients.
