Another wake up at 05:00 and a quick cup of Masala Chai before heading into the park for sunrise and another days safari. A quiet morning by the previous days standards but we found recent tiger tracks, a patch of sand where we could see where the tiger had laid down and a gap in the leaves where the cat, like a domestic cat, had done something then tried to clean up after itself. It was very interesting and exciting but still no sign of the tiger.

We saw similar things to the day before and it was another long day out of the door at 05:30 back at 18:45 10 minutes to wash some dust and dirt ofF you then back out of the door to go to Ramesh's house for dinner. It was really good, although only Ramesh spoke English we got along really well with his father and children. We fell off many wagons as Ramesh had made a mutton curry and gave us beer. Excellent. We watched a film about tigers and how they were saved from extinction and got so into it we must have been boring. The average tiger takes two years before its young can leave the mother (this is the only litter in this time), only 1 tiger generally survives from each litter and a tiger only lives for about 10 years, it must be difficult to try and recover a whole population as numbers went down to 2,000 about 20 years ago. Ramesh told us about how much the poachers are still getting to kill tigers and ship various 'bits' into China although illegal the trade is possibly increasing due to a rising price, the basics of supply and demand.

Anyway a very interesting evening, Ramesh offered us to live with him and work for him and the Park on a volountary basis so it's something we may consider after this trip. It would be great to do some volouteering with nature involved.

Back to the hotel for 9:30pm and we are knackered again.
