Where I stayed
On a Train
Had lunch in the hotel and almost managed not to pay for it (accidentally of course), even though it was only 2.50 each. We then went for another stroll around some of the temples near the hotel, where all the temples are more 'brightly' decorated and a little like a fairground in style. We wandered around for ages just soaking up the atmosphere.
Later on at the hotel we seemed to have loads to do trying to book trains for our next leg of the trip, getting in touch with Ramesh who is organizing a safari for us (although he could still turn out to be a rogue, he is proving difficult to contact as we have no phone and internet is the only method of communication
Anyway, Avi, our Manc friend helped us out no end in what was becoming a complete shambles and took 30 minutes out of his day (after he climbed what is practically a Himalayan mountain to get to a temple) to walk us to a place where he could translate for us to make phones calls at an ‘Indian Rate’ rather than a ‘Western Rate’. The hotel had started to become a major annoyance with no phone we could use, SKYPE as always wasn’t working so Avi saved the day. Top Man, thanks again, hopefully your good deeds have been repaid!
