What a great island, what a wonderful people. I spent three days on Malapascua Island and I had the feeling I knew everyone when I left. Everywhere I walked to people would yell at me: "Mr. Andre, Mr. Andre !!!!" It was so funny.

This island provided me with quite a lesson of life. Here are some of the poorest people on Earth. They have nothing. They live in rudimentary bamboo huts. There's hardly any chance for improvement either because of their isolation. But yet they are the most happy people I've ever met. Everyone is always smiling. They all greet you with a warm "Welcome to Malapascua !" and they are very quick to invite you in their home for drinks and a chat. And perhaps most importantly they're not looking for any money. They just do it spontaneously and out of pure goodness. It was so refreshing to meet this people. I'll never forget them.

The children were especially adorable. I could really feel that they were very happy to meet me. They were always so enthusiastic and wanted to take me around to make sure I wouldn't miss anything on their island. Their toys were handmade. No Video games or fancy toys around, just pure childish fun from what nature could provide. And a lot of friends to play with. That's all they needed to be the happiest kids on Earth.

Andre.

Hi Andre - Glad to hear you like my Island! =) I'm trying to do a website about it, so people coming here can read reviews and so on. You can see it at www.gotomalapascua.com - could I perhaps persuade you to write two lines about the place you stayed? Would you recommend it to others and so on?
