we are getting ready to leave NZ for the South Pacific, so hopefully no more Tsunamies in the next 4 weeks...
But before we leave we wanted to send ou a short update and give you heads up that we might not be able to write a lot the next weeks as we need to relax in the sun and go snorcheling :-)
After Wellington we stayed a night in Napier on the East Coast of the North Island. Very pretty Art Deco Town. They rebuild it after a fire destroyed almost the whole city and it is all Art Deco - so they have an Art Deco Festival every year too, and we were lucky to be there on the right day. Everybody dressed up in 1920/30 cloths, old cars, music, it was like a timewarp :-)
And we stayed in a prison which was really scary - never again!
After Napier we went to Rotorua and spent there a day walking around. Steff and I had a cold so Andi discovered that town mosty on her own.
After Rotorua we took the last bus ride - to Waitomo Glowworm Caves, where we did a tour through caves and so a lot of glowworms - and then to Auckland. In Auckland we did a city tour, went to the observatory, had a dance in a gay club and rented a car to drive up north to Pahia where we did a tour to the most northern point of NZ. And had a drive on the 90 mile beach!
Now we off to the Cooks - we will think of you when we are swimming in our lagoon....
No fotos possible right now - I hope we can do this somewhere on the way!

Nach Wellington waren wir In Napier. Dort fand gerade eine Art Deco Festival statt. Somit wimmelte die Stadt nur so vor Oldtimern und Menschen in den passenden Kostuemen. Wir haben in einem alten Gefaengnis uebernachtet.
Nach Napier waren wir in Rotorua. Dort roch es etwas komisch. Es ist eine sehr vulkanische Gegend. Wir haben hier auch eine Maori Show besucht. Es war schon beeindruckend.
Nach Rotorua sind wir nach Auckland. Unterwegs waren wir noch in den Waitomo Caves und haben tausende von Gluehwuermchen gesehen.
Auckland war gross und nicht sehr schoen. Wir haben uns etwas dieStadt angesehen und unsere Schnorchel Ausruestung fuer die Suedsee gekauft. Wir sind ueber Harbour Bridge gelaufen. 40 Meter hoch....... wo ich die Hoehe dorch so gerne mag. :-(
In Auckland haben wir uns einen Wagen gemietet und sind nach Pahia hochgefahren. Pahia ist eine schoene kleine Stadt. Wir haben am Sonntag eine Tour ganz in den Norden unternommen. Wir konnten die Stelle sehen, an der die beiden Ozeane in einander fliessen. Ausserdem waren wir Sandboarden. Schon wieder ziemlich hoch hinaus. Es war totzdem ganz lustig. Abends waren wir noch etwas trinen. Es war schliesslich Steffs Geburtstag.
Heute geht es in die Suedsee..... :-)
