Day 2 in New York passed without a hitch. It started with a 7:30 a.m. ferry ride to Manhatten, followed by a bus ride to Times Square.
I ended up walking past a taping of Good Morning America (there was lots of cheering, but I didn't recognize the person in the center of the crowd). Oh well! After grabbing some breakfast from a street vendor, I made it to the training site and buckled down for 8 hours of fun! :) Once the work day was over, I rushed to the Museum of Modern Art; but I only got a chance to see a few exhibits as they were closing in 15 minutes.
Next, I decided to make my way to the Empire State Building. I must say that it was an impressive view of the city from way up there, but the wait was outrageous (approximately 3 hours). I ended up staying at the top for quite some time, so in the end the wait was worth it. There were some nice people from France ahead of me, which made the wait amuzing. Once I got down, I stuffed my face with food at a joint just across the street and then made my way to Macy's. I didn't buy anything, but it was nice. Much different, however, from the scenes in Miracle on 34th Street. :)
Finally, it was time to head back to New Jersey. I started to walk down to the water, but the closer I got to the Ferry Terminal, the more deserted the streets became. My Spidey senses didn't go off, so clearly there weren't any bad guys looming near by. ;) But I may have stumbled into the taping of The Bachelor or The Apprentice--there were people rushing out of a private bus into a night club and several cameras capturing the moment. Very interesting this Big Apple....
