I traveled to Sogamoso with my father, my mother and my son. I arrived at 08:30 am  It's a great city. First off, We took a bus to Sogamoso. This city is about 18 hours away by bus. I stayed in Yanuba Hotel near Central Park. Next to hotel, there was a shopping store. There I bought two scarves, two sweater and a jean. Because in the day it was cold, after I walked around the city and I saw many monument for example there was sculpture of the indigenous in the central park. Also there was a wonderful, big church. I don't remember its name.

In Boyacá people said: "Su Merced", this word is from colonial times. So, Sogamoso is better known as the city of sun and steel. This region is a big producer of steel. But SUN??? hahahaha This is a big lie because there it's cold, sometimes it's windy and cool. All time I was wearing my pink scarf. Every day I stayed in bed til around 8:30 am. Then I had some breakfast. The food was rare for me. Because in the morning they eat "changua". It's a kind of soup. I don't like that. In the morning I eat cookies and eggs. That day I had lunch peas, rice, chicken and potatos' salad. It was OK.  I listened to traditional music It's named "Carranga". It's very funny you can dance as you want to dance. The most famous singer of this music is Jorge Velosa. We went to the Sun and Steel Festival and We listened carranga until midnight. We ate chorizos and "picada". Picada it's a kind of several meat (pork, cow, chicken....) There are great restaurants everywhere but very expensive. When you travel to Sogamoso You should drink "Ron Boyaca" it's perfect for the cold night or also coffee.

We took excellent photographs in the Archaeological Museum Templo del Sol (Temple of the Sun) or Templo de Suamox. This place has many thinks of the families Muiscas. There were a lot of huts where the Muiscas lived before. It was a little town. In the east there was a big hut where the Muiscas prayed to the sun. We learned about Muiscas Civilization. I saw a swimming pool in the museum and I thought people could swim there, but not it was a water source when it was raining. It's Templo de Suamox because Suamox was the cacique founder for that the city is named Sogamoso. This civilization had a lot of beliefs about the nature, I saw birds and frogs sculptures. They prayed to sun, moon, fire and water.

When I arrived  Sogamoso I didn't know nothing about Boyaca because people don't know about it. I went because I was with my family.  I am glad I went as I really enjoyed my time in the region. If you stay at Sogamoso you can visit in the region 2 or 3 pretty little towns in a day and to have a wander around: Mongui, Nobsa, Tobasosa, Aquitania and Iza.
